The Importance of Belonging in the Workplace

Do you experience a sense of belonging at work?

We surveyed nearly 600 members of our community in the fall of 2021 to learn more about how they experience belonging, what it means to them, and how to create conditions that foster belonging. Our results deepened our understanding of the benefits that belonging provides for individuals, as well as for their organizations. This report offers tools for fostering belonging at work, derived from the data of this study, insights gained from our survey results, suggestions offered by our respondents, and our own expertise.
